The Eco Kettle: Exactly The Right Amount Of Water Every Time You Boil!

The Eco Kettle looks like a stylish electric jug kettle in appearance but it has a special feature that allows the user to fill the kettle to its maximum, but then allows them to boil one to eight cups according to their requirements. This saves energy as well as time.

Eco Kettle - Save Energy! Save Money! Save Time! Save Water!

Governments the world over are starting to devote some of their resources to combatting global warming with programs aimed at increasing public awareness of the need to save energy and ensure that we use energy efficiently.

In the United Kingdom, for example, you will find that all council and government websites carry tips on saving energy and on all these sites they all stress the importance of not overfilling your electric tea kettle, and only boiling the amount of water that you need.

From the United Kimgdom, the Department of Environment, Food and Rural Affairs (DEFRA) have quantified how important this is with the following statement:

"If everyone boiled only the water they needed to make a cup of tea instead of 'filling' the kettle every time, we could save enough electricity to run practically all the street lighting in the U.K."

The Co-operative Bank works in partnership with Climate Care to help reduce global warming and offset carbon dioxide emissions. Paul Rumbold, Head of Mortgages, at The Co-operative Bank, says:

"We can all do our bit to reduce energy. Using a kettle to boil only the amount of water needed each time would save UK householders over 1 million a week."

The Eco Kettle - the energy saving kettle

The DETR ran a campaign aimed specifically at encouraging UK electricity users to be more aware of their kettle usage. They worked out that the UK alone drinks a staggering 229 million cups of tea and coffee every day. That's enough to fill 22 Olympic-size swimming pools. It works out at an amazing 9.5 million cups every hour, 159,027 cups every minute and 2,650 cups every second.

The DETR said:

"...each time we boil the kettle we use more water than we need, we also waste valuable energy and contribute to climate change. On average, we could all save 90 seconds each time we boil a kettle - by putting in only the amount of water we need. Such a simple action would also cut household electricity bills - overfilling each time we boil wastes enough energy in a week to light our house for a day or run a TV set for 26 hours."

Saving Energy is easy with the ECO KETTLE

The Eco Kettle has been invented to specifically meet the challenge of reducing the amount of energy wasted by overfilling your kettle. With the Eco Kettle, you can fill the kettle to the brim and simply press the central button in the lid to release a specific amount of water (1-to-8 cups worth) into the boiling chamber. This easy, simple method of accurately ensuring that you boil only the water that you need means that you can save the planet while on your tea break!

You can do your bit to save the planet on your tea-break!

Using the Eco Kettle will save electricity, it will save water, it will save you time and it will save you money. And what's more, choosing the easy Eco-Kettle-way to conserving energy while boiling water, helps minimise carbon dioxide emission levels. It's an easy, simple and valuable choice to make.

The Eco Kettle was showcased quietly at the HomeTech Expo (Feb 2004) in Cologne, Germany where it aroused great interest and enthusiasm from kettle distributors worldwide. Production began summer 2004.
